In this senior production role, you will lead, coach and develop a diverse salaried and hourly team in achieving their goals in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Area Manager of Production and may be responsible for multiple shifts. The average team size includes 6 – 10 salaried team members and 100 – 250 hourly team members. You will be responsible for managing a budget.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Building a ‘one team’ culture while launching the new T1 pickup truck in Oshawa
Leading and coaching a diverse workforce comprised of salaried and hourly team members to achieve business goals and manufacturing excellence
Meeting/exceeding safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost and environmental goals
Analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems
Assisting in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations
Taking considerable initiative in decision-making accompanied by a high level of independent discernment
Assisting in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities
Forecasting for the areas of your responsibility and establishing a course of action to accomplish jobs or projects
Complying with the terms of local and master labour agreements
Administering corporate policies
Maintaining corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance

Participate in ThroughputImprovement Process (TIP)
Ensure environmental targets are achievedfor the department
REQUIREMENTS
University Degree or equivalent
All required Global Manufacturing System (GMS) training and/or experience in lean manufacturing
Experience with time and attendance and shift coverage planning
Problem solving/continuous improvement
LabourRelations experience
Previous plant floor experience in either a supervisory or engineering role
Experience leading in a unionized environment
Experience in plant floor systems
Strong communication skills
Experience in SAP
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
