Laboratory Technician

Because this position requires a security clearance, US Citizenship is mandatory.

Position Description: This position requires performing a variety of tasks in support of diverse research within multiple restricted laboratory environments. Responsibilities include receiving items delivered from the warehouse, tracking hazardous materials, delivering items to end users or proper storage areas, providing up-to-date product quantities for stock items in labs. Other duties include: Creating purchase requisitions, assisting with end of month financial reporting and documentation, management of chemicals (solids, liquids and gasses), including cradle to grave tracking, maintaining accurate inventory of materials.

Position Requirements:

• US Citizenship is mandatory
• Must be able to obtain a secret clearance
• Prefer experience working in laboratories
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry a maximum of 50 pounds
• High School Diploma (or GED) with experience, Two-Year or Four-Year Degree in Science preferred (recent grad)
• Proficient computer skills

o Microsoft Office Suite

o Deltek CostPoint experience a plus

• Ability to work in cleanroom environment and biotech spaces
• Experience with hazardous materials and gas cylinders preferred
• Experience with inventory management or procurement systems preferred
• Must be able to identify hazards and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Good attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, self-starter, punctual, ready to learn

Salary is industry-competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise.

The selected candidate will be an employee of General Technical Services LLC (GTS). US citizenship is required (security clearance). There may be occasional travel. GTS offers company-funded educational support for job-related training. SEDD conducts innovative research to provide the Army with affordable enabling technology in sensors, electronic warfare (EW), Quantum information sciences, position navigation and timing (PNT), Systems Biology, and Energy & Power. SEDD coordinates technologies within the Army, other services and their laboratories, industry, and academia to leverage basic and applied research opportunities for the benefit of the Army. To accomplish its mission SEDD utilizes several unique facilities, most notably the Zahl Physical Science Laboratory, a 349,000 square foot state-of-the-art electronics R&D facility. This building has a 15,000 square foot clean room, dry room, high energy laser facilities, bio-inspired sensor laboratories and other research & development infrastructure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
