DescriptionGeorgia-Pacific is searching for a Facilities Manager to support the pulp and paper mill in Plattsburgh, NY. This position oversees the building(s), equipment, and grounds to ensure the workplace is safe and functional. The Facilities Manager is responsible for developing project plans, negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting the facility to meet safety regulations, and coordinating projects, renovations, repairs, and updates. This role will haver responsibility for a few direct reports and will report in to the Reliability Manager.What You Will Do In Your Role- Supervise all plant facility maintenance including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, roof, furnishings, construction, remodeling etc.- Coordinate, oversee and/or manage repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial work- Prioritize work daily in coordination with operations for maximum value creation and equipment up-time- Mentor, provide guidance, performance feedback and coach team members to further develop competencies- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance systems for facility equipment, building structure and grounds- Coordinate and manage outside subcontractors to do work that is beyond the facilities capability or time constraintsThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:- Work experience supporting facilities management or experience in reliability engineering or management- Knowledge of general facilities and equipment maintenance (Wiring, HVAC, Plumbing Repair)- Leadership or supervisory experienceWhat Will Put You Ahead- Experience in coordinating vendors, contractors, and suppliers- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations- Experience using SAP Our goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
