GetSetUp Hiring for Spanish – Speaking Guide at Remote Full Time

GetSetup Guides-Instructors teach online classes, part-time to older adults (50+). They design, develop, and teach classes in subjects for which they have knowledge, interest, and passion. Guide-Instructors teach small, interactive, instructive classes. They use their love of teaching and excellent communication skills to engage, instruct and delight our older adult learners as they learn new technology and topics. They have demonstrable expertise that they are able to transfer to learners by covering class material by demonstrating, conducting exercises, evaluating and observing application of material.

Guides represent the GetSetup brand and receive comprehensive training in our tools, customer engagement and virtual instruction so that they are highly effective at meeting the needs of our customers. They work part-time 15-20/hrs week (in which they host 5-10 online sessions per week).

Responsibilities

Teach online classes (using Zoom) in subjects in which you have expertise, skill or certification in Mandarin. Effectively cover class content by demonstrating, conducting exercises, evaluating and observing application of class material.

Develop and submit new class ideas, and create class outlines/curriculums for new classes.

Dependably launch scheduled classes on time. Complete GetSetUp administrative tasks such as submit hours, send post-session notes to customers, etc in a timely fashion.

Learn and practice GetSetUp’s virtual led instruction principles. Participate in GetSetUp trainings, meetings, etc as requested. Stay up-to-date on technologies used by GetSetup and our teaching platform.

About You

You are fluent in Spanish and in English. Demonstrable expertise and knowledge in your areas, and can teach/present at least two different topics in Spanish. (topics can be but not limited to: cooking, gardening, fitness, travel, dance, tech-use, photography, handcraft, etc.)

You are a good communicator and have strong empathy for the learner. You are able to present topics logically and engage learners to interact via questions. You have the ability to predict learning trouble spots and challenges. You enjoy teaching and presenting.

You are a lifelong learner and have ability and desire to learn. You are curious and eager to explore new areas for topics related to interests and passion.

You are a problem solver and can work independently. You can handle change and ambiguity. You are able to maintain composure and customer focus while troubleshooting and solving customer issues over video.

Technical acumen – Prefer familiarity and experience with Zoom, Google tools.

Has worked or likes to work in small teams

Previous teaching /coaching experience is desired.

Guide Commitment

Work 15-20 hours/week.

Teach at least 5-10 sessions (1 hours each).

Willingness to invest in your professional development (FREE training provided by GetSetUp).

Attend mandatory GetSetUp training sessions and meetings if scheduled.

Technical/Infrastructure Requirements

High speed internet.

Computer that is 1-2 years old with camera and microphone.

Have a large monitor or laptop and separate monitor.

Quiet, distraction-free work space with a door you can close.

Good lighting in the room you will work from.

Have equipment for the classes you will teach (example: Smartphone for iPhone or Android class, camera to teach photography, canvas to teach oil painting, musical instrument to teach music).
