We have an exciting opportunity to join the Professional Education Team on a 12 month secondment as a Professional Education Facilitator (PEF) looking specifically at further implementing the CLiP model.
This is an opportunity for an individual to work across site within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) and contribute to the One Gloucestershire ICS project and the expansion of clinical placements within our NHS Trusts.
The PEF will work collaboratively with the operational/ward teams, practice supervisors and assessors, learners and academic institution colleagues to ensure a positive experience for our nursing and midwifery students whilst on placement within GHFT.
If successful candidates will be required to do a 10 minute presentation followed by an interview.
The Professional Education facilitator will be a visible role model, providing expert advice, knowledge, guidance and support to clinicians.
They will increase awareness of GHNHSFT career pathways, and engage staff raising aspirations and achievements.
On a practical level this will involve being responsible for engaging with staff to work with service and education colleagues in the facilitation of a high-quality educational learning experience, providing support for students on pre-registration programmes. The PEF will need to be able to support ward managers to plan and evaluate their educational learning environment, identify learning opportunities within their areas & develop adequate numbers of practice supervisors and assessors who will support students on educational programmes. This role will also include the need to increase the number of non-medical professional student placements including BSc students and paramedics available in GHFT.

You will be working as part of the Professional Education Team within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
There are 2 Professional Education facilitators within the Professional Education team, with differing clinical backgrounds and experiences. The team works collaboratively to deliver excellent support, education and development activity, but each work autonomously and are responsible for their own work streams and educational duties.
As a team we educate and develop our colleagues, but we will also support your development as an educator within the team including mentoring and coaching, attending appropriate in-house training and undertaking relevant Higher Education Institutions modules.
The Professional Education Facilitator will educate and support the non-medical practitioner workforce, improving quality and developing practice.

Network locally, regionally and nationally, communicate complex ideas and concepts between clinical environments, educational partners, ICS and the wider health community.
Act as a representative and advocate for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at meetings with all our partner organisations and the wider health community as required to facilitate a positive partnership approach to integrated / interprofessional working across health and social care and educational systems.
Ensure that educational and professional statutory requirements are met in a timely manner to ensure a high quality educational / practice learning experience can be provided.
To participate fully in personal appraisal – talent conversation process, continuous professional development and maintain a personal development portfolio
Work within a team to develop innovative educational platforms such as virtual teaching, webinars, and the use of simulation- based education.
Identify and participate in the use of technology enhanced learning (TEL) to compliment and support current teaching methods and to significantly influence the change in culture.
Contribute to the quality, safety improvement and academic reputation of the Trust by identifying and supporting the promotion of nursing research, encouraging academic writing and the promotion of other opportunities to share best practice and innovative ideas
