The Public Lands Disposition Management Section (PLDMS) is responsible for the administration of public land in Alberta. This responsibility is mandated by legislation including, but not limited to, the Alberta Land Stewardship Act, Public Lands Act, the Mines and Minerals Act, all associated Regulations, and applicable Ministerial Orders. As a Land Administrator (LA) you would report directly to the team lead and perform a range of administrative, operational, and consultative activities relating to public land administration such as dispositions, approvals, and authorization. This includes handling renewals, assignments, cancellations, rental charges, mapping fees, timber damage charges, and security deposits as well as the administering the collection of delinquent financial activities for land use activities. You will also use maps and survey plans to identify conflicts, performs mathematical calculations, and use spreadsheets and databases to complete your work.

Required:
Two year diploma in Land Administration, Land Analyst, Legal Assistant, or a related field.

In this role, you will contribute to our team by demonstrating the following behavioral competencies:
Systems Thinking: The LA’s area of expertise concerns the legislative and legal requirements of the documentation associated with the requested activity. Failure to satisfy legislative or legal requirements results in the inability to enforce the department’s interests under the activity.
Build Collaborative Environments: The LA works closely with field staff to ensure that the applicant/holder provides required information in a timely fashion.
Creative Problem Solving: The position ensures operating conditions on approval documents are non-conflicting to support successful enforcement action if required during use of public land. The position examines and recommends acceptance of land related documents presented for registration in the official department records.
Drive For Results: Legislation sets deadlines which, if not met, compromise the legal authority of the department with respect to issuing the requested activity.
$1,826.08 to $2,236.52 bi-weekly ($47,660 – $58,373/year)
These positions work Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
