Who We Are:
The Research and Implementation Branch (RIB) is an innovative and diverse team of researchers, data scientists, change agents, and policy leaders. RIB prides itself on creating space for emerging leaders to tackle complex issues across the ministries of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, Social Services and Justice and Attorney General. We work with division leaders, providing:
Research expertise and resources, including advanced data analytics, to develop evidence informed insights into ministry challenges; and
Implementation expertise and resources to get the job done.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a confident and driven individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to fill a one-year term position of Implementation Specialist in RIB.
Reporting to the Director of Implementation, your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate solutions to systemic challenges across the criminal justice and social services systems;
Identifying shortfalls and optimizing internal government processes to advance implementation of strategic direction, service delivery, or organizational restructuring;
Using systems thinking to identify implementation tools, including efficiency reviews, process improvements and identifying service integration solutions;
Project management and change management methodology; including developing clear governance, communication, and risk management tools to ensure successful implementation;
Gaining technical knowledge on current systems and applying responsive implementation tools to test solutions including research, creative communication, roadblock identification, training, and evaluation;
Identifying, contributing to, and meeting strategic priorities;
Professional and successful implementation of projects according to timelines and budget while maintaining stakeholder relationships; and
Emulating a ‘one team’ approach to change.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking someone interested in developing their leadership skills, with a proven track record of working independently in a team environment. You will have strong interpersonal skills, a wide variety of communication skills and a proven ability to develop partnerships to achieve results. You will have:
Documented experience in identifying and delivering a variety of implementation tools to achieve results;
Knowledge and application of public policy formation, the budget cycle, project management, evaluation and change management theory;
Ability to develop and implement strategies to reach branch/program/ministry goals and further organizational objectives;
Ability to design/develop/select research methodologies (including surveys, focus groups, interviews, literature reviews) and apply appropriate statistical and analytical techniques;
Ability to verbally/visually/in writing, communicate information to a variety of audiences that persuades, convinces, builds support, educates, changes behavior, promotes understanding with others; and
Proven ability to work with a variety of internal partners, external stakeholders to achieve project deliverables.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through a combination of post-secondary or masters education in the area of policy, business, the social sciences or a related discipline and experience in leading and delivering projects for senior levels of government.
