The Ministry of Health, Population Health Branch, has a challenging opportunity for a professional, collaborative and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Reporting to the Director of Health Promotion and Central Policy Support, the Public Health Nutrition Consultant will facilitate partnership and collaboration with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, health interest groups and other regional stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate effective strategies that support public health nutrition, healthy living and population health promotion.
You will undertake projects to align provincial and regional priorities and support collaborative practices centered on the integration of public health nutrition and population health promotion within the broader health system, including strengthening and supporting the continuity of Population Health Promotion and Primary Health. Working within a team environment, you will be an excellent communicator with the demonstrated ability to lead projects that involve multiple stakeholders with varying interests.
The candidate of choice should have comprehensive knowledge of public health nutrition, population health promotion, primary health care, and social policy issues. The candidate will also have proven experience related to policy development, research, program planning and design, program evaluation and analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Typically, knowledge required for this position would be attained through the completion of a graduate degree in nutrition, health promotion, public health, or public policy, supplemented with five years of recent public health nutrition experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be members, or eligible for membership, with the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association.
