Graves Brothers Company Hiring for Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk Job at Vero Beach, FL Full Time

Graves Brothers Company, one of the oldest citrus producers in Florida, with interests in multi-family residential apartment communities, is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk to join their team.

The Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk will assist the Accounting Manager in preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Will assist Accounting Manager with the following duties and responsibilities:

• Performing general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
• Preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Maintaining the general ledger, setting up new accounts, reconciling accounts, and closing the monthly books
• Reconciling bank accounts at least monthly, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks
• Reconciling cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; managing accounts receivable collections
• Verifying payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensuring payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Providing outside auditors with assistance; gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Filing sales and payroll tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Coordinating with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommending updates to enhance the accounting software
• Maintaining knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Dynamics Great Plains with ability to manage Report Writer and quick books payroll

Education and Experience:

• · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field experience (Required)
• At least 2 years of related experience (Required)
