Taitara Mahi – Learning & Discovery Assistant

Permanent Part Time – 10 hours per week

Hastings District Libraries has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and outgoing people person to join the Learning and Discovery team. This is a permanent part time position working 10 hours a week.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of programmes, activities and events spanning our entire customer base, from babies to elderly. This role has two main components: firstly, administration duties such as organizing bookings and preparing for events, and secondly in the actual delivery and running of library offerings. With that in mind, this position would suit someone who is not only organized and IT savvy, but also outgoing and not afraid of speaking to groups, telling stories to children or running our epic Nerf Battles.

The 10 hours can be, and will be, flexible for the right candidate and as needs change. Availability for hours on weekends, weeknights and during school holidays will be an advantage, as will a drivers license.
