The Lead will assist and support the Team Lead with one (1) specific activity and will support additional activity operations. This person is part of the Leadership Team. Lead opportunities include Tubing and Mountain Coaster. This person is the connection between the front-line staff and the Leadership Team relating to the quality of overall activities operations on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis. Supporting the Team Lead with the implementation of standard operating procedures; ensuring exceptional service/experience delivery. The Lead is accountable for maintaining day to day operations on the Team Leads days off and ensuring alignment with department, resort, and company goals and with a focus on guest and staff safety; assisting in leading a team; helping with other needs in the department.

Job Responsibilities:

Training

• Assist with the distribution/gathering of front line staff Training Checklists and other training documentation.
• Maintain and execute the training programs for staff related to guest service, daily operations, and emergency response that meet all applicable codes and regulations
• Assist with ensuring proper completion of Training Checklists and turn in appropriately
• Attend additional trainings as needed or assigned
• Must pass activity specific training and maintain competency as needed

Operations:

• Maintain operating procedures, inspection logs and safety standards for employees and guests
• Conduct daily morning meetings, address operations and guest service needs by setting clear goals and objectives for staff
• Distribute daily inspection logs to front line staff; collect, review, and sign off – daily
• Set and communicate Daily Rotation to front line at Morning Meeting
• Manage the operation in order to achieve budget goals according to departmental guidelines
• Responsible for guest and employee safety and guest safety including compliance with state, federal, and industry regulatory operating requirements (e.g., USFS, OSHA, ANSI, ASTM, ACCT, IAAPA, etc.).
• Actively foresee, plan for, and mitigate any hazards or risks associated with their activity
• Remains onsite to focus on daily operation for majority of day
• Ensure the highest level of cleanliness, organization, and care for the activities and all related equipment
• Work with their Leadership and Management Teams, Patrol/Medics, Lift Operations and other key departments to keep our facilities and equipment maintained and in safe working order and to develop a positive working environment
• Ensure staff maintain uniform and professional grooming standards

Administrative:

• Maintain and update schedules with days off requests, day trades, last day of work
• Complete End of Shift report daily with all topics throughout the day
• Provide feedback regarding document revisions needed

Job Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working in a high alpine environment including working through inclement weather conditions
• Able to walk uphill at a moderate pace at elevation of 9,000’+
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 Year previous experience in the outdoor industry; knowledge and skill in leading recreational activities
• Experience leading teams
• Written and verbal fluency in the English language
• Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 160 ft. (if applicable)
• Excellent guest service skills
• Ability to work well with people and maintain composure in challenging situations
• Maintain a professional and appropriate relationship with direct reports
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Under 250 pounds due to manufacturer requirements

Preferred (not required) job skills:

• Intermediate or better skill set in MS Office products including Excel and Word
• Technical Rope Rescue Certification
• Knowledge in ASTM Standards
• Wilderness First Responder
• First Aid and/or CPR
• Emergency response experience
• Professional Office Skills
• Valid US driver’s license

The budgeted range starts at $22. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
