Starting Salary: £27,344 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £30,151 per annum

Job Duties:
HCC Services for Young People’s purpose is to enable young people to succeed through the delivery of targeted prevention and early intervention to address emerging needs, improve life chances, and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive services. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.
The Local Enterprise Partnership and Services for Young People has secured funds for targeted young people to gain better outcomes when transitioning from school into post-16 options. This funding will support young people who are considered to be ‘Mildly Disengaged’ with education. You will be responsible for mentoring young people across each academic year delivering bespoke interventions that motivate and raise the aspirations of young people that will include where appropriate visiting a Further Education College, participating in a mock assessment centre and encounters with an employer/employee or apprentice/training provider.
The Talent Mentor role is wide-ranging. Duties vary according to the needs and aspirations of the young person. The key aim is to support the young person to overcome barriers, improve employability and enter a sustained education, training or work destination.
The role requires a degree of experience of working with vulnerable and challenging young people and will expect post holders to manage their own case load and plan, deliver and measure interventions to support the participants they work with.

Driving Roles Only: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car. In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
English Fluency: The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).
