Adult Education Administrator
Start date: March 2023 or sooner
Contract: Permanent, term-time only, plus three weeks to be worked across the Summer break and one over the Easter break
Salary: NJC point 9-12 (£22,584 to £24,917 FTE) £9,248pa to £10,203pa actual salary
Hours: 16.5 hours per week, 3 days a week worked Monday, Thursday and Friday,
Term time only
Actual hours: 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday, Thursday and Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break, making a total of 16.5 paid hours.
A degree of flexibility may be required from the holder of this position, particularly at the time of recruitment of adult education students.
Holiday will be accrued and taken during quieter periods of each term and agreed with the Adult Education Manager in advance.

The Role
Hills Road Sixth Form College Adult Education Department is seeking to make a part-time appointment to join our team of Adult Education Administrators on a permanent contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join the adult education department of a leading Sixth Form College with a national reputation for excellence.
The Colleges’ Adult Education Department has developed to become one of the foremost centres in the Cambridge area to provide continued learning with a wide programme of evening and Saturday school courses.
Employing over 100 adult education tutors, teaching 120 courses, the College delivers adult education provision to c. 3500 students each year. Our Modern Languages and Art & Design courses are particularly popular and we have the largest Counselling provision in the local area. The delivery of courses is ably supported by a close-knit team of administrators and coordinators all overseen by the Director of Business and Finance.
The College invests heavily in the resources available at Hills Road ensuring the campus is maintained to a high standard and enabling staff and students to work and study in a pleasant environment. The College maintains its IT infrastructure and hardware to a high level and regularly invests in new equipment and resources.
The Applicant
The new post holder will be IT literate with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word. They will possess good written and verbal communication skills and be confident in speaking to members of the public on a regular basis.
The new post holder must be able to work in a team but also have the confidence to work independently and have the ability to take initiative in what can be a demanding environment.
