The post holder will be a member of the student administration team responsible for the delivery of a high quality administrative service and student experience for the Department’s taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The post provides support to students and academic staff as the first point of contact for queries.
The role is responsible for essential work supporting the delivery and administration of our teaching programmes by ensuring that student lifecycle activities run smoothly and that our students and staff experience our services in a seamless and effective manner. With support to develop a working knowledge of regulations and processes, the post holder is a valued and trusted member of the team with a keen eye for accuracy and detail. The post holder is expected to work flexibly as part of a team, supporting others in times of high-volume activity, providing cover, and supporting the training and development of new staff members.
The post is designed to provide comprehensive administrative support across a variety of areas, particularly in respect to the Department’s undergraduate teaching programmes and providing e-learning/Moodle support to professional services and academic colleagues. In addition to day-to-day teaching administration, the post-holder will have shared responsibility for the administration of the Department’s Extenuating Circumstances processes and procedures with a particular focus on monitoring applications for interruption and withdrawal of study. The post holder will also spend a significant amount of time monitoring assessment from initial submission to mark upload across all modules and will support during the module registration and programme approval periods. The post will also provide support for induction events and documentation, have oversight of content for undergraduate teaching/student related pages on Moodle module pages, Moodle ’student hubs’ and the staff intranet, ensuring that information is presented consistently and is kept up-to-date in a timely fashion.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to work on new systems, evidence of excellent administrative skills, and the ability to use initiative, work independently to resolve queries and demonstrate a proactive approach to administration are essential.
A proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, exercise time management skills and manage high volumes of work/data without direct supervision, sometimes with conflicting priorities is also essential.
Experience of providing high level support to students and dealing directly with student enquiries would be desirable.
