Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician Helper~ without more than normal supervision. Assists journeyman in laying out, assembling, and installing a variety of wiring systems. Use basic hand and power tools such as measuring tapes, conduit benders, pliers, screw drivers, drills, and rotary hammers. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort:
Work requires incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring positions on ladders and scaffolds. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifts weights in excess of 35 pounds with the assistance of other employees or mechanical means.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside building for most of time. Incumbent works outside occasionally and is exposed to weather elements. The work is dirty, dusty and greasy. Is exposed to shop noise and there is possibility of broken bones, minor electrical shock, cuts and bruises.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
