Houselink and Mainstay Community Housing is Toronto’s largest non-profit supportive housing provider; as the result of a recent amalgamation between the former Houselink Community Homes and Mainstay Housing. As a joined organization, we currently manage nearly 60 residential locations and more than 1,100 units across the City of Toronto, serving individuals with complex mental illness and addictions. We work closely with sector partners to deliver programs and advocate for solutions that will address homelessness. Maintenance Worker

Regular Full-time

Responsibilities:
performing a variety of maintenance repairs and tasks in residential buildings

communicating with members of the maintenance department, other staff and tenants

Requirements:
skill and experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting & dry-wall, electrical work and mechanical systems;

familiar with life safety systems, including fire safety equipment;

knowledge of Fire Code, Building Code, Residential Tenancies Act; and Occupational Health & Safety Act;

good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and residents;

organizational skills to schedule priorities, make adjustments for emergencies, and see work through to completion;

administrative skills to maintain records, using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel), Yardi Voyager Work Order system, and to enter worked Time & Attendance in Information System;

work outside regular work hours, when on stand-by in rotation of on-call service roster;

adhere to practices and procedures of Occupational Health & Safety;

valid Driver’s license and access to an appropriately insured car or van; and

sensitivity to issues of mental illness, poverty, and working with tenants in supportive housing

The Hourly rate is $23.03/hour. This is a bargaining unit position, the rate is as per the collective agreement.
