About the role:
As part of Moana’s Group Functions, you will join a small, high performing team, reporting to the Group Communications and Sustainability Manager. You will create compelling stories that inspire and connect people to who they are, what they stand for and do, sits at the heart this role. You will be their brand guardian and champion, responsible for enhancing and safeguarding the Moana New Zealand brand, image and reputation.
  
No day is the same at Moana, so be prepared to be on the go, juggle multiple priorities and collaborate with a wide variety of people. As a doer, no job will be too small or big and you will be comfortable working both autonomously and in a team.
  
Key responsibilities:

• You will lead the creation and execution of the group-wide communications and engagement strategy. Your ability to develop strong partnerships to maximise the organisations reach through leveraging key relationships will be advantageous
• Working alongside our leaders, you will provide advice to develop internal media and communications capability and encourage new and improved ways of communicating with diverse audiences
• You will have a central role in managing all PR and media activities, from the key point of contact for internal and external communications, to developing key messages and proactively composing press releases through to representing the business at key industry forums

  
Key experience and attributes:

• Minimum 3-5 years Communications, PR & media liaison experience, with diverse industry experience
• Comfortable with being a daring content maker, who is intuitive and resourceful and has the tenacity to always find a way and make things happen
• A wordsmith, effective listener, and engaging speaker, along with your innate sense of enthusiasm for team and company success
• Strong communication and PR experience, you will possess exceptional relationship and networking capability
• A natural ability to empower others and foster open dialogue. You must be able to demonstrate your expertise to develop a deep understanding of a business, capturing its essence and a true to connection to people quickly and effectively
• Willingness to learn basic Te Reo and tikanga with a view to correctly pronounce and apply Māori tikanga in everyday work settings
