With a technology strategy firmly in place, and a purpose built Head Office in Wollongong, our new Cloud Engineer will work collaboratively with the team and our business customers throughout IMB in relation to all things ‘Cloud’ across the full lifecycle such as driving cloud initiatives from the top down and the development, automation, migration through to DevOps practices to meet both IMB business and technology needs.

Reporting to the Principal Cloud Engineer, the main responsibilities of the role include:

• Working in collaboration with all stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture and Solution Design and Development teams, to deliver and drive cloud development, automation, migration through DevOps practices to meet business and Information Technology needs
• Managing full cloud service lifecycle from the release of cloud service offerings into production
• Maintaining cloud development standards and patterns supported by quality assurance processes in line with business needs and IMB security and information management requirements
• Implementing and maintaining cloud operations tools for monitoring, notifications, trending, and analysis to ensure service, cost reduction, security and best practice operations
• Ensuring the documentation of patterns and configuration for support, BCP and training purposes
• Assisting with the successful completion of projects and changes, and the support of production environments and cost minimisation.

We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following criteria:

• Hold a degree qualification in IT with at least 2-4 yrs of experience in Cloud engineering using Infra-as-code preferably terraform, configuration management and continuous integration and continuous delivery tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins

• Have an understanding of cloud environments such as: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, M365
• Working knowledge of various financial Acts and regulations desired
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate, influence others and write robust documents such as presentations and solution designs
• Strong technology and digital foresights
• Production experience with either AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with core provider services from AWS or Azure, preferably having supported deployments on one or more of these platforms; professional level certifications desired.
• An understanding of distributed system design, network architecture and dependency management.
