Responsible for assisting in the definition of and the execution of the data strategy under the direction of the senior technology manager and is instrumental in helping transform our business into a data driven organization intent on building member value. Utilizes various business intelligence data, guides the direction to identify data sources and usage, maintains the ownership of the data governance program, and has the knowledge to utilize tools to create meaningful analysis and reporting.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with internal strategic business partners to develop data needs. Develop charters and plans defining the needs, scope, and resources necessary to implement. Assess the key issues and data needs. Use predictive analytics to forge better relationships with members. Leverage data vendor relationships to support credit union initiatives.Perform as the data steward which includes developing standard definitions of key performance indicators and definition of key data fields. Works with key vendors to define enhancements to Daybreak or similar analytic databases.Lead efforts to find ways to use data to improve current business processes through analysis and review of discrepant data scenarios. Lead efforts of other data analysts.Develops and maintains data standards, data catalogues, file templates, analytical models, and file view documentation. Oversees adherence to data security standards such as PCI. Manage data standards including but not limited to key performance indicators.Provide information, including standard reporting packages, query templates, ad-hoc reporting to various end-users in an appropriate form and frequency not limited solely to dashboard content.Knowledge and SkillsExperienceFive years to eight years of experience working with either a Data Warehouse, a Data Mart, or SQL databases. Expert knowledge of one or more data reporting tools including Excel, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, and others. Financial industry experience required Strong organizational skills required General knowledge of one or more programming languages Strong understanding of predictive analytics and versed in statistical measures Solid understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and security standards such as PCI.Education/Certifications/LicensesA college degree.Interpersonal SkillsA significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
