As a consequence of opening up a new Foundation Programme, we are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Biology & Chemistry for the expanding INTO London World Education Centre at Middlesex Street, London E1.
We require a well-qualified teacher with a strong track record of academic success and delivery experience, to teach across the two areas – Biology & Chemistry, at our INTO Centre for international students, based in Middlesex Street, London.
We are open to full-time, or part-time applications and should you only have experience of one area (Biology OR Chemistry) will will consider a job share.
Applicants will teach across two Level 3 programmes: The Foundation Science and Engineering programme and The Foundation Medicine and Health Professions programme in both Biology and Chemistry modules. The delivery will involve teaching approaches such as problem-based learning tutorials and flipped learning.
The successful applicant will have the ability to teach students from a variety of countries and cultural backgrounds, and with different language levels. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic teachers looking to contribute to INTO’s International Foundation, Programmes which prepare international students for University studies. The role will include teaching through lectures, seminars and tutorials as well as the design and preparation of module contents and assessments. You will also provide academic support for international students through personal tutorials.
The post holder will ideally have a relevant post-graduate qualification, relevant teaching experience and a teaching qualification (or be willing to register for one). They must also be highly enthusiastic and have an imaginative and adaptable approach to the delivery of the curriculum area.
As an exceptional teacher you will be able to demonstrate high standards of delivery in a consistent manner, be committed to improving achievement across all areas of your subject and have an understanding of the strategies required to accomplish this. Strong planning and organisational skills are also required.
Salary: £32,401 – £43,838 (inclusive of London weighting, dependant on experience)
Location: 102 Middlesex Street, London, E1 7EZ. Please note that practical sessions take place at London Metropolitan University Science Centre in Holloway Road once per week, principally on Wednesdays.
