Job Overview:
This key leadership role reports directly to the US and Canada SVP of Finance & Operations. The Sr. Director of Finance, Revenue and Credit & Collections will partner with finance, legal sales and operational leaders to deliver results aligned to the US & Canada Regional Business Unit’s (RBU) revenue, cash management and DSO financial targets. Primary responsibility is to drive standardization and consistency to ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition, billing, collections, cash application and client interactions. This role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement and requires a client-focused mind-set as well as strong analytical and organizational skills. ​
Essential Functions:
Leads the end-to-end order to cash process for US & Canada RBU which includes revenue recognition, credit assessment/worthiness, billing, cash collections, reporting and audit / SOX compliance.
Build strong relationships and work closely with finance, legal, sales, and operations leadership as it pertains to the organization and delivery of the order to cash process
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients; addresses client needs and directs problem resolution as necessary
Provides strategic direction and operational leadership for all order to cash initiatives
Ensures that the recording, measurement, and reporting of all financial revenue transactions adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal IQVIA corporate policies and procedures, government regulations and local business/functional requirements.
Assess credit worthiness of new & existing customers and recommend actions necessary to protect IQVIA interests, i.e. deposits required, payment plans, etc.
Adheres to all Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, audit procedures and regulations to ensure full compliance; monitors established control points
Assist with timely month-end closing including analysis of required reserves
Analyzes collection processes and establishes best practices for all receivable types
Review bad debts write-offs prior to management approval, and take corrective actions if necessary
Responsible for approving non-standard pay terms and invoicing for client contracts
Develops reporting, analytics and KPIs designed to measure and track collections, DSO, AR Aging performance
Provides overall leadership of team and for planning, staffing, goal setting, budgeting, supporting system initiatives, and implementing new processes and policies.
Cultivates an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, professional development, open communication and teamwork.
Ensures appropriate training and knowledge transfer occurs within department and relevant cross functional groups
Delivers results in alignment with US & Canada RBU financial targets.
Qualifications:
12+ years’ experience leading organizations such as order to cash, accounts receivable, credit/collections management and revenue operations
Experience building and leading teams
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Financial Management. Graduate degree preferred.
CPA – Certified Public Accountant CPA or other professional financial certification preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Knowledge of financial systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong leadership and focus.

Proven record of results working with senior management in a consultative business approach.
Strong project management skills and the ability to translate business issues into financial requirements.
Technical proficiency with financial application software: SAP / PeopleSoft / Oracle Cloud, HFM and Hyperion applications
High level of integrity and self-confidence.
