JA Russell Ltd Hiring for Purchasing Officer Job at New Zealand Full Time

We are looking for a motivated and organised Purchasing Officer to join our Boston Road (Grafton) Branch team.

As a Purchasing Officer you will be a senior member of the Branch, not only managing all technical aspects of the role, but also be providing genuine leadership, coaching and development to the team (helping shape their careers and improve the efficiency and efficacy of the purchasing function), while contributing to the broader supply chain strategy.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining branch stock levels and stock turn
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure accurate, in-full and on-time replenishment is maintained
• Ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality
• Continuously improvement purchasing systems, processes, and performance
• Implement purchasing strategies to ensure continuous supply

Skills & experience requirements:

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong planning, organising and prioritising skills
• Excellent communication skills
• You will need to be forward-thinking and have advanced computer skills in ERP, data and Excel.
• A track record of delivering strong results and maintaining positive supplier relationships

This is a hands-on purchasing role where you will take the current processes to the next level, therefore you need to have a solid background in best-practice purchasing, data, understanding of lead times, shipping constraints/demands and moving large quantities of inbound shipments.
