The Consumer Relations Representative is responsible to answer phone calls, emails, letters or other correspondence from customers who have encountered a problem with a product or service. They are responsible for listening to the customers issues, providing accurate information and following up in a timely manner when a solution cannot be immediately provided. The Consumer Relations Representative must have a well rounded knowledge of the company’s products and services, and be able to communicate effectively in conversations with unsatisfied customers. They will document complaints and collaborate with internal departments to improve products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

• Provide professional customer service by diagnosing and resolving customer inquiries via phone calls, emails, letters or other correspondence
• Document inquiries into a web-based platform to transcribe interactions which will provide internal business partners the data needed to make strategic decisions
• Develop a thorough working knowledge of various brands, products and services
• Responsible to achieve business metrics to drive a high level of customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with internal business partners to develop better customer support processes
• Responsible to diffuse escalated situations where a customer has become frustrated due to a product issue or service offering. The candidate must possess the ability to respond in a clam, controlled and professional manner.

An undergraduate degree and/or 3 years in related business experience are preferred but not required. Jack Links will provide on-the-job training for all system and process responsibilities, but the candidate must be able to quickly learn and apply training in live situations.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective listener and ability to exhibit patience in all situations
• Outgoing personality with a desire and commitment to provide excellent customer service
• Solid problem-solving skills to find answers on behalf of the customer
• Strong organization skills with an ability to execute the details
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt in various situations and work in a team environment

The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office.
