Learning & Development Advisor

The Learning & Development Advisor will assist in the execution of the organization’s talent management strategy; enabling leaders to assess and develop talent in alignment with the business strategy. The LD Advisor will drive best practices in all areas of work, while planning, developing, and managing multiple LD programs and tools to address the needs of the workforce stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Talent Management (TM) team members, Workforce Partner (WP) Advisors, subject matter experts, site supervision, craft and stakeholders to create innovative and impactful experiences in the areas of learning and development; talent assessment; succession planning; engagement and retention.
• Support the design, implementation and delivery of learning and development processes, programs, and tools that have an enterprise-wide reach, inspiring and empowering individuals and teams towards improved performance.
• Serve as program manager and coordinator for select LD development programs.
• Serve as WP Lead Administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS) including reporting, event management, and troubleshooting in collaboration with internal and external resources.
• Participate in the design of training courses by researching, auditing, developing, and updating program content; coordinate the roll-out of courses including the management of invitations and instructors; deliver information sessions; maintain training materials and tools.
• Able to work independently and with limited supervision, along with an openness to strategic guidance and coaching from the Talent Management Director/Manager.
• Pay: $75,000 – $85,000 annually.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational development, psychology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of Learning and Development experience preferred.
• Field training experience and knowledge of field culture highly desirable.
• Passion for empowering people and helping them reach their goals.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Self-directed and proactive, possessing advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and facilitation skills.
• Team player who prioritizes working well with others: is quick to build trust; listens generously; possesses a positive and uplifting mindset; values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Excellent communication skills, time-management, and organization skills.
• Learning Management System (LMS) experience.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Calgary-based with intermittent travel to the Edmonton office and various job sites.
• In-office or hybrid working arrangement.
