Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1550 students, including over one hundred boarding students and flexi-boarding students. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon, enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking to appoint two additional school counsellors to join our well-established and experienced school counselling service. You will provide individual counselling sessions to boys (aged 10-18) and staff. Experience of working in a school setting is not essential. However, experience of working with children and adolescents would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidates will ideally have worked across a range of modalities, including attachment-based, psychodynamic and existential modalities. British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or UK Council for Psychotherapy accreditation is essential. A master’s (or relevant equivalent qualification) would be an advantage.
In return, we offer a generous salary and benefits package, including a money purchase pension scheme (plus Life Assurance Cover), Employee Discount Club, discounted school fees for the Foundation Schools, access to our onsite gym, membership of a healthcare plan, a range of family-friendly benefits and season ticket loan.
We welcome applications from all sectors of our community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
