Day Shift, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

Non-Exempt, Pay Grade E1

Position Summary:

This is a medical records staff position with responsibility for completing medical records requests, maintains the companies fax bucket and transcription. ENTAA Care a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC.

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

Minimum of one year’s experience in a medical records setting and/or with company for one year; preferably in a health care setting.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Applicant must be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office with strong interpersonal skills and with a friendly and empathic manner.
• Experience with computerized EMR (electronic medical records) systems highly desirable: familiarity with use of computers is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with staff, physicians, Howard County General Hospital departments, patients, families and outside agencies in such a manner as to gain their confidence and secure their cooperation and respect.
• High level of patience, tolerance, and tact in order to deal effectively with people and time pressures.
• Professional demeanor, attitude and appearance.
• Initiative and assertiveness in dealing with problems.
• Knowledge of medical records procedures.
• Knowledge of use of office equipment including phone, computer, shredder and scanner.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure to answer correspondence and prepare reports.
• Skill in using courteous and professional telephone manner.
• Skill in typing at least 35 wpm.
• Employee must stay within the allowed attendance policy to maintain medical records status.
• Flexible to changing demands
