Position Summary
The Business Analyst is a business analyst role which supports the line of business and works with the management team. Partners with the line of business on operational requirements and oversees complex operational and analytic tasks and projects. Helps the business to define reporting requirements and analysis of data to assist the business in meeting operational objectives. Partners with the business to increase focus on drivers of productivity, quality, and efficiency. Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to more complex data mining independently. Focus is on process improvement and compliance with internal or external audit. Responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of a variety of critical activities including strategic and tactical initiatives. May provide guidance to more junior analysts. Creates and recommends product solutions to meet the need of the business.
Designs, develops, implements and maintains business controls and solutions ensuring compliance with Investors and Regulatory requirements, including Chase policy. Works directly with project and business leaders to identify business requirements. Familiar with a variety of mortgaging servicing concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance)
• Develops and communicates solutions for the line of business.
• by effectively gathering, compiling and reviewing information and data, evaluating existing systems, processes and procedures, identifying alternate courses of actions, development of tools and/or improvements.
• Individually solves complex business problems and completes analysis with little oversight. Performs advanced functions to provide performance information to LOB leaders.
• Review and recommend process improvement opportunities within the business unit.
• Work with business to define reporting requirements and analysis needs to help drive performance or meet various operational needs.
• Create management reporting and interpret results and convey in a concise, straightforward, and professional manner to management team.
• Reviews and creates presentations for senior management. Ensures information is clear, concise, and depicts the information trying to relay.
• Leads tasks/projects end to end to identify all potential problems and how to solve for them. Identifies and articulates issues and risks to management. Ensures timely completion.
• May involve coordination of Financial Services responses to Internal and External Exams and Audits.
• Responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of a variety of critical activities including strategic and tactical initiatives, management support, executive reporting and business planning.
• Manages business solutions initiatives to assess business support/tech needs, propose, and evaluate solutions, in partnership with other related business support functions.
Knowledge and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related discipline strongly preferred.
• 3+ years experience in mortgage banking preferred.
• 3-5 years experience working performance analysis techniques and project/process management and improvement strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of Home Lending systems.
• Develop alternative solutions to complex problems, think outside the box, and recommend the best solution.
• Exhibits a strong understanding of a client’s business and actively seeks input to anticipate client needs and effectively meets or exceeds them.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work efforts.
• Effectively remediates issues by engaging appropriate resources to mitigate risk with a sense of urgency.
• Able to communicate effectively to an audience including senior management.
• Ability to operate in a collaborative and cooperative environment and must possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues at various levels of the organization.
• Ability to plan, organize, and guide a project from inception through multiple timeline milestones all the way to completion.
• Listens to understand various points of view.
• Proficiency within the Microsoft Office suite MS Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Expresses thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely.
• Independent logical problem solver; analytical ability to synthesize data and project outcomes.
• Maintains the highest standards of honesty, fairness and ethics. Will be exposed to confidential information.
• Keeps others informed of key business information, issues decisions and action.
