Keating Jones Hughes, PC Hiring for Legal Secretary – 4+ Years Litigation Experience Job at Portland, OR Full Time

At Keating Jones Hughes, PC, we have been helping to shape healthcare and tort law in Oregon for more than 20 years. We have interesting cases involving the defense of professionals, hospitals, and public-service entities with a focus on medical and hospital liability. Our Portland defense firm is hard at work, and we are looking to add another full-time Legal Secretary to join our existing team. Talk to us about our signing bonus!

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a litigation legal secretary

• Knowledge of Oregon state and federal court system; knowledge of Washington Superior Court a plus

• Experience with e-filing

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

• Experience in ProLaw and appellate work a plus

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and consistently deliver high quality work while maintaining a professional composure

• Attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment and anticipate problems and next steps

Job Duties:

• Electronic filing and communication with the courts

• Docketing, calendaring and scheduling

• Draft, proof and edit correspondence and pleadings

• Enter time in billing program; make travel arrangements and other miscellaneous administrative tasks

• Keep track of details, coordinate with multiple parties and keep attorneys organized

• Assist fellow legal assistants and accept help as well
