KIRKLEES COUNCIL ARE ADVERTISING THIS ROLE ON BEHALF OF PIVOT ACADEMY
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds.
The Pivot Academy Cleckheaton places the young person at the centre of all we do. All of our learners have the potential to succeed and to enable them to do so we believe in setting high aspirations and support each of them to achieve their goals. Our aim as a school is to allow our young people to experience and understand the world around them, enable them to achieve to their full potential and equip them with the tools they need to play a successful role in the world beyond school and in to adulthood.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and resilient Learning and Behaviour Mentors to support our young people across our Key Stage 4 and Post-16 provisions. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with young people with complex needs, who can engage and inspire.
As a Learning and Behaviour Mentor, you will co-ordinate and address the barriers to learning for either an individual pupil or a targeted group of pupils in order to enable them to achieve their full potential. Although this area of education is challenging we can offer the right candidate a rewarding, supportive and fun working environment. No two days will be the same, the pace will be quick and you are encouraged to trial new approaches.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.
Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing our application form and returning to Sarah Howarth, HR Manager at [email protected].
Closing Date: 17 October 2021
Interviews: To be confirmed
We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.
