Aggregate Lab Tech (Seasonal) Company: Knife River – Central Minnesota Division Department: Aggregate Location: Sauk Rapids, MN Hiring Manager: Janelle L Adelman Closing Date: 09/30/2021 at 11:59pm CDT Job Type: Full-Time – Seasonal Job Summary: Responsible to safely collect samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand or gravel and test for conformance to specifications. Minimum Qualifications: 1.Safely and properly perform laboratory tests on variety of materials (Aggregate and/or Concrete). 2.Collect material samples, identify material, and compile statistical data on test results. 3.Perform necessary tests (i.e., gradations, incinerations, rice tests, marshall tests, %crushed, etc.) 4.Examine and evaluate data – determine material quality in relation to specifications 5.Present alternative actions in relation to the evaluation. 6.Perform arithmetic operations and report findings and needed actions. 7.Maintain lab and equipment 8.Perform daily housekeeping 9.Conduct finished and in-process inspections 10.Perform concrete trial batches 11.Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others. Communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders. 12.Ensure work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, safety and environmental regulations.
