There is an immediate opening for the position of Quality Assurance Tech I (pre-operational inspection) at K&N’s Foods USA, LLC (poultry manufacturing plant), located in Fulton, NY. This position requires performing in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner. Employees working in this area are expected to perform as a team member, exhibiting reliable and dependable work habits which includes assisting one another as needed.PRIMARY DUTIES:* Perform early morning pre-operational inspections which involve investigating areas of the plant, machines, parts, and every other functional area of production. Any discrepancies will be documented and reported to production for corrective action.* Verifying the cleanliness after corrective actions and assisting production whenever necessary.* Monitor temperatures of coolers and freezers holding product.* Performing quat analysis wherever necessary.* Retrieving samples for compositional analysis* Assisting in any microbiological sample collection and other duties as assigned.* Performing fryer fatty acid analysis and documenting* Complying with all GMP protocols, and reporting any GMP discrepancies* Performing organoleptic studies on finished product* Documentation of all analyses and corrective actions.* Touring and operational sanitation duties* Investigate all incoming raw ingredients* Escort pest control agent through facility* Communicate any deviations in process or specifications to the Quality Lead* Participate in and contribute to training programs, as designated by the Company that are periodically required to enhance job performance, quality, safety and cost.* Maintain housekeeping, GMP’s and safety in the area.* Ensure that GMP’s are properly enforced, monitors and ensures compliance with all company HACCP programs, testing, and sampling procedures.* Interact with production operators closely.* Perform all other duties as assigned.NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:* Associates Degree is preferred* 1-3 years experience working in a food manufacturing facility* Preferred experience in sanitation verification with a luminometer* Knowledge of Aseptic Techniques* Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards for SOP’s, HACCP, GMP’s, Quality, Food Safety, etc.* Experience in raw material inspection, microbiology and chemical lab is preferred.* Process improvement skills to include the ability to analyze information, strategically plan, prioritize, and create reports.* Good communication (verbal and written), reading, math and record keeping skills.* Ability to interact with other employees in a professional and courteous manner.* Ability to complete assignments with minimal direction.* Effective problem solving ability, including recommending and taking corrective action.* Working in a chilled environment, occasional heavy lifting and climbing stairs.* Exposure to noise, cleaning agents, extreme temperatures, dusty conditions and humidity.* Highly energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.* Must possess a High School Diploma or GED in order to be eligible, plus one year experience working in a laboratory setting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
