L3Harris Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

As a Sr. Specialist, Software Engineering – Applications you will be responsible for requirements, analysis, design,development, testing and integration of embedded and application software.

Major Job Activities:

• Analyze and assist in the development of requirements flowed down by Systems Engineering to develop software architecture and software design.

• Design, document, develop and unit test software for systems in accordance with the Software Development Process and coding standards and guidelines.

• Collaborate daily with team members in an Agile Scrum environment

• Participate in software design/code reviews

• Present software designs in internal and external program meetings

• Participate in Systems Test and Integration efforts

• Support risk assessment and development of mitigation strategies

• Other duties as assigned

  Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD secret clearance; Must be able to obtain additional clearances as required

• Bachelor’s degree in ComputerEngineering, Computer Science, or related field with required years of software experience

• A minimum of 8 years experience in Computer/Software Engineering field

• A minimum of 8 years experience developing application software in modern C++ and/or Java

• Experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP).

• Experience developing software for/on Linux

• Experience with Agile/Scrum Development

• Experience developing software on a team

• Fluent in modern C++ and the C++ Standard Template Library (STL)

• Excellent problem-solving skills (root cause analysis experience)

• Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment

• Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products

• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

  Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, BitBucket, Confluence)

• Experience with Python

• Experience with Git

• Experience with CI/CD

• Experience with UML/MBSE

• Experience with Cloud Native

• Familiarity with RF/Radar technologies

• Existing DoD secret clearance with current 5-year update

• Defense industry experience with weapon systems development/integration
