About the Role
Responsible for supporting the management, preparation, administration, and directing the control of the budget for large and/or complex programs. Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and in accordance with accounting principles. Assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis. Conducts detailed financial analysis. Interprets and implements most proposal estimating, pricing and documentation requirements. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors program adherence to approved budget.
Primary Responsibilities
Conducts detailed financial analysis on programs awarded to the organization
Finance support for PMO and related projects on an as needed basis
Work with Cost Accounting on program reporting issues to ensure correction to programs and program reporting
Development and analysis of program financial information for monthly PMR reviews
Reconcile monthly actuals database to general ledger for revenue and costs
Upon award of contract, establish contract baseline by element of cost (material, labour, overhead etc.)
Responsible for the creation and accuracy of monthly reporting to support development and ongoing monitoring of EACs
Prepare monthly program cost accruals as required
Management and ownership of EAC process and analysis for funded programs >$5M
Responsible for validation and booking of revenue and contribution margin on a monthly basis for applicable EACs
Responsible for ownership and on-going maintenance of the L3Harris Wescam price book, a significant tool in Bids and Proposals that allows the Wescam Division to perform complex financial analysis on bids
Lean, simplify and improve costing and pricing practices and processes across the product and service offering
Lead process improvement activities within B&P Finance and the related price book sections
Support the annual price book exercise and work with others in the organization to gain alignment and approvals on annual costing and new product/service offerings
Develop pricing models to support and analyze financial decisions with respect to Long Term Agreements (LTA) with OEMs
Financial support and analysis for major bids in preparation for SMT, Sector Segment and Corporate approvals
Provide financial and business support as necessary for B&P
Support of Business Intelligence (BI) tools with the overall New Business Operations group
Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external auditors as required
Required Capabilities
Advanced knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint (MS Office)
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player, ability to develop strong working relationships with related key managers and support staff
Strong process improvement orientation
Ability to adapt and respond quickly to urgent business requests
Open, honest customer centric attitude
Desired Education and Experiences
Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have practical knowledge of project management.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary / Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Completed or in final stages of CPA Certification or equivalent experience
Experience in a large company environment with multiple subsidiaries, both Canadian and U.S.
