Lancashire Virtual School: Education Consultant: Grade 9 Full Time Permanent
Lancashire Virtual School for Looked After Children and Vulnerable Groups wishes to recruit a team member into a vacant post of Education Consultant who will join 8 other Education Consultants who form the heart of the team.
The Virtual School sits within the local authority’s Education Improvement Service.
The Virtual School champions and supports the educational progress and attainment of looked after and previously looked after children and has a strategic role in raising the priority of education for all children with a Social Worker. This involves working in close partnership with schools and colleges and other key professionals such as Social Workers. The role involves support and advice, but also the ability to challenge in a constructive way. The Virtual School is required to track progress and attainment of all our looked after children in education from aged 2 to 18, and to offer support to care leavers to access education, training, and employment
The role includes visits to schools and other educational settings, attendance at planning and other meetings, contributing to training for Designated Teachers, Social Workers and carers, and quality assuring education plans. The collection, recording and use of data to inform our work is also required.
We require a committed and enthusiastic professional with experience of working collaboratively with schools and /or further education settings, other key services and parents/carers.
