The Ethnic Minority/Gypsy Roma Traveller Achievement Service is looking to recruit an International New Arrival Education Access Officer to the Community Team. The EMGRT Achievement Service sits within the Education Improvement Service and has an excellent reputation with schools across Lancashire and beyond.
You will play a vital role in supporting families, particularly new arrived families, across Lancashire, enabling their children and young people to access education. You will work as part of a wider Community Team supporting the families to access education and signposting families to relevant support.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with local schools, service users and service providers. They will also undertake necessary casework for specific families. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and experience of providing excellent customer service are essential.
Knowledge or experience of the UK education system or local authority education support services and working with diverse communities would be advantageous. The ability to communicate in a community language other than English would also be helpful.
