Lendi is looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to be part of one of our product teams on a permanent basis.

In an ever-changing regulatory environment, Lendi is leading the charge in developing industry-first technology designed to offer Australian homeowners transparency, simplicity and convenience in their home loan experience.

Engineering is forefront in this charge as we look to automate and build out scalable and reliable systems to support our customers and counterparty banks.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be a valued member of our engineering team. We appreciate evidence-backed opinions and you will have the opportunity to play an integral part in driving the engineering team’s rhythm, culture and processes with opportunities in planning and resource allocation, architecture and design, coding, deployment, and support.

• Working in a team that owns integral parts of the system, designing and delivering quality stable solutions.

• Developing and maintaining microservices using NodeJS and Typescript; guiding and enforcing best practices.

• Owning services end-to-end from requirements to design, development and deployment and support.

• Building robust, scalable software as a key member of one of our engineering teams.

• Writing clean, maintainable code that is suitable for continuous integration and deployment, following best practices and software guidelines.

• Helping to drive the engineering rhythm and process of the team from planning, design, coding, deployment, to support.

• Guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers.

• Collaborating as part of an agile team.

• Taking ownership of the systems you and your team build, which means supporting, debugging, monitoring, and alerting in production.

• Continuously improving your skills and helping the team continuously improve its processes

What you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer building and running distributed applications and services.

• Experience in NodeJS (we use Typescript) and associated technologies.

• Experience developing RESTful Services and the ability to align API contracts with other teams.

• Experience having worked productively as part of an agile team.

• Proficient understanding of Git and source code management tools such as Bitbucket or GitHub.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your team, manager, and stakeholders.

• Desire to learn and work using TDD approach and writing automated tests such as unit, integration, performance, and other

• Experience working with infrastructure/configuration as code and CI/CD

It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

• Knowledge of AWS specifically IAM, S3 and DynamoDB

• Understanding of event-driven architecture

• Has exposure to automation and continuous delivery

• Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker

• Knowledge of Banking and/or mortgages
