Lincoln University Looking for Tutor/Senior Tutor – English for Academic Purposes x 2 at Christchurch Central, Canterbury Full Time

Mō te tūka | The role

We are in need of motivated tutors to provide teaching, course and curriculum development, administration, service and student support in the programmes of the University Studies and English Language Division (USEL), with a particular focus on the delivery of English for Academic Purposes, both on campus and online.

Our USEL division at Lincoln University delivers transition programmes for international and domestic students who intend to study for undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The Division offers an English Language programme for students who need to meet the English language requirements for entry to tertiary study, and the Certificate in University Studies and the Diploma in University Studies for students who need to meet academic entry requirements for undergraduate study or for students who have been out of tertiary study for some time.

We have the following roles available:

• Tutor x1
• Senior Tutor x2

Remuneration for these positions are as follows:

• Tutor: Grade A1, $48,964 – $63,892
• Senior Tutor: Grade A3, $65,441 – $90,900

These are permanent roles working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A tertiary qualification including a teaching qualification in one or more of tertiary teaching, TESOL (for English-language teaching, a recognised qualification is obligatory), adult education, secondary teaching (and/or relevant recent teaching experience in a university environment).
• At least three years’ recent teaching experience in the tertiary and/or language learning sector together with evidence of successful outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be highly familiar with online delivery.
• At least three years’ recent experience in the development, moderation and delivery of curricula and assessment for tertiary and/or language learning students in alignment with current best practice. The successful candidate will be highly familiar with online assessment.
• Relevant, recent experience in the successful delivery of teaching and a demonstrated commitment to developing one’s own professional capability in this area.
