Educational Welfare Officer (EWO)
Required for 1 September 2022
Scale Grade 8 Point 22 FTE £30,444 – pro rata £28,289 per annum
37 hours per week, 42 weeks a year (Term Time and includes 5 training days)
The University Academy Long Sutton is a popular 11 – 16 years Academy in the rural market town of Long Sutton, and is part of The University of Lincoln Academy Trust. This may bring the opportunity to work across 2 sites.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated EWO. The successful candidate will work closely alongside our Senior Leader of Attendance. You will have an understanding of issues affecting attendance, take a lead role in implementing Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures to improve pupil attendance; taking appropriate interventions where required. You will also have an active role in making home visits to further improve home/school communication.
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE standard or above in English and Mathematics, have previous experience of monitoring attendance and reporting, be able to effectively use ICT and, whilst not essential, experience in the use of SIMS would be advantageous.
