A Day In The Life: Finance Controller – CENTREX

Role

As a Finance Controller at our CENTREX distribution center, you will be a key player in driving transportation cost optimization and efficiency. This dynamic role requires a self-motivated, proactive individual capable of working independently and taking ownership of key financial processes. You will:

• Master Management Standards & Internal Control: Utilize and ensure compliance with internal (Management Standards) and external (GAAP/IFRS) financial documents.
• Optimize Costs: Apply costing methods to model and evaluate performance within transportation, commercial, industrial, brand, procurement, and supply chain activities. Specifically, you will own the management and control of the transportation budget, meticulously tracking and analyzing variable costs in close collaboration with the traffic team.
• Budget for Growth: Develop budgets and financial forecasts, understanding their impact on overall business and financial targets. Identify transformation levers to enhance financial efficiency and sustain growth.
• Efficient Reporting & Consolidation: Ensure financial reporting aligns with Group standards, providing key insights into transportation spend.
• Plan and Analyze Business Performance: Anticipate and identify opportunities, risks, and solutions, recommending strategic changes and interpreting financial results. This includes providing timely heads-ups and confidently communicating budgetary constraints, including saying “no” when necessary.
• Proactive Business Partner: Leverage your knowledge and expertise to provide strategic recommendations that contribute to overall business effectiveness, working cross-functionally with different teams and seniority levels.
• Maximize Systems & Data Management: Utilize systems like SAP, Compass, and Magnitude to provide insights into critical issues, including advanced Excel skills, SAP proficiency, and Power BI experience for data visualization and reporting.

You are a highly analytical, organized, and results-oriented individual with a passion for logistics and driving cost optimization. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your negotiation and cross-functional leadership skills to make a tangible impact. You possess:

• Advanced Excel, SAP, and Power BI skills
• Intermediate English proficiency
