Loretto Management Corporation Hiring for Patient Care Attendant/Housekeeper at Syracuse, New York Full Time

The Patient Care Attendant/Housekeeper works on a nursing unit and in collaboration with a nursing team, to provide non-clinical resident services such as houskeeping, dining services and resident engagement a nursing home and physical rehabilitation settings. If you are looking to start a new career in healthcare and/or nursing, this role can be a great stepping stone to our Certified Nursing Assistant training program! Schedule requires three 12-hour shifts (7:30am – 7:30pm) including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include some or all of the following:

• Ensure all beds are made

• Stock supplies in the resident rooms and clean utility room

• Delivering linens

• Tidying resident rooms and closets as needed

• Answering call lights

• Transporting residents

• Resident nail care (NO CUTTING), cleaning and painting only

• Lounge Duty (provide resident safety oversight and resident engagement only)

• Resident engagement – one on one or group activity

• Meal Assistance

• Set up dining rooms

• Transport residents to and from the dining room

• Washing hands before and after meals and as needed

• Ensuring residents are wearing clothing protectors

• Set up trays and deliver

• Pick up trays

• Post meal dining room clean up

• Pantry stocking, dating of refrigerator items, and disposal of items

• Completion of the NY State Feeding Assistant Program to provide feeding assistance to low risk residents under the direct supervision of a licensed professional

• Nourishment, Snack and Hydration pass

• Emptying linens and trash bins

• Additional duties trained and competencies to complete

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.

• Ability to follow simple verbal and written directions.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours or duration of shift.
