Digital Library Assistant
Salary from £27,416 to £30,607 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £32,768 pa inclusive of London allowance
The Digital Library Assistant, a member of the Digital Library team, works with colleagues across the Library to manage and make available online the Library’s digital collections. They are involved in all aspects of managing digital collections, including describing them, arranging for digitisation, uploading them to our Digital Library and making them available online. The Digital Library Assistant also contributes to the wider work of the Library, including involvement with project work and work going on in the team and Group.
The main duties and responsibilities of the post focus on the description and management of the Library’s extensive and varied digital collections. The post-holder will work with a range of colleagues, including their line-manager the Digital Assets Manager as well as colleagues in other teams, to assist with this key strategic goal for the Library.
Candidates should have good IT skills, experience working with digital files and their metadata (eg publishing photos on social media or on websites, performing digitisation work, or scanning files to create PDFs) and the ability to maintain high standards in the management of both physical and digital collections.
