Due to parental, leave, this role is offered on a fixed term 12-month contract and can be full-time or part-time, 4 days/week.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Category Manager, you’ll support the Senior Category Manager to deliver a product category portfolio, maximising targeted customer appeal, and supporting Macpac’s strategic sales, profit and inventory aims. Your focus will be on apparel for men and women as well as footwear.

You’ll Ensure All Aspects Of The Buying Cycle And Marketing/promotional Activity Are Managed And Deadlines Are Met. Day To Day Tasks Include

• Analysing and planning range change implementation and impacts.
• Support Buyers to optimise range spread and price.
• Support the team in sales and inventory budget activities.
• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure inventory is managed to target and in line with agreed strategies.
• Report on product trends and performance and suggest strategies to address opportunities identified in the range.
• Support the Design team with each phase of the product development process and partner with manufacturers in obtaining suitable product samples that are created within targeted timeframes.

About You

• You’ll have one of three backgrounds to be suitable;

> Experience in Product Development within the apparel industry.

> You’re a Category Manager from industries including apparel, the outdoors, footwear or FMCG

> You’re a Merchandise Planner within the apparel, outdoor or footwear industry.

• You are customer obsessed and can understands the customer needs and articulate how to meet their expectations with ease.
• You’re known for your impeccable commercial acumen.
• You’re experienced in setting pricing and promotions strategies or have supported others in doing so.
