POSITION OVERVIEW

This person is accountable to work as a member of a team in the day-to-day manufacturing of assembly product, as set out by Dortec management and the day-to-day on line set up and maintenance of assembly equipment to support the productivity objective.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates various machines involved in the assembly and testing of parts by inspecting and inserting appropriate pieces, activating machine, receiving and inspecting assembled parts and placing it in the appropriate bin or box
• May rotate to and operate all machines in assembly
• May be required to hand assemble pieces or components as required
• Carries out quality control inspections on all assembled parts by machine or other methods as instructed
• Upholds Magna Production System (MPS), principles of standardization and one piece flow
• Upholds 5S standard for continuous improvement
• Required to set-up, adjust; maintain assembly equipment, changeover equipment and machinery to required schedules
• Checks equipment and machinery for safeties to be in good working order
• Performs Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), activities as per TPM check sheet (Line Specific)
• Support Maintenance department as required
• Adhere to Line Cycle Time
• Performs general maintenance on equipment
• Completes all documentation and records as it relates to the set up function
• Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for our customers

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

• Customer satisfaction (internal/external)
• Meet all line efficiencies quality and scrap goals as defined by production.
• Submits suggestions to the Employee Involvement Program to ensure on-going continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• No educational requirement.
• 1 to less than 3 years of work related experience.
• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Formal Lockout/Tagout Training
• Comprehend the three main control factors of production plant: NG (no good parts), DT (downtime), CT (cycle time).
