Manawatu Rugby Union Looking for Chief Executive Officer at Palmerston North, Wanganui-Manawatu, New Zealand Full Time

The Manawatū Rugby Union is seeking applicants for the role of Chief Executive Officer. 

Manawatū Rugby is home of the Turbos NPC team, the Cyclones FPC, and incorporates 16 senior clubs and 11 junior clubs. Overall, more than 4300 registered players play in competitions across junior, youth, and junior grades. 

Key competencies for the role of CEO include:

• an understanding and background of Rugby experience – a proven passion for the game and its effective administration; 
• a high degree of experience and proven ability regarding financial considerations; 
• atrong commercial acumen; 
• experience in personnel matters;
• communication and engagement skills;  
• strategic leadership. 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has the responsibility to provide leadership, management and to operationalise the Board’s strategic framework for the Manawatū Rugby Union. Through consultation with the Board of Directors and Stakeholders, the role requires the CEO to make long and short-term decisions that are in the best interests of the Union as an efficient organisation providing for the growth of rugby in the Manawatū. 

The CEO: 

• builds strong working relationships throughout the region and assists with the delivery of the region’s Community Rugby goals;
• assist with recruitment, retention and growth of players and coaches through delivery and implementation of rugby programmes within schools and clubs across the region.
