An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Reader in Social Care or Social Work to make a major contribution to education, research, knowledge exchange, academic leadership and teaching within our Faculty of Health and Education. Located in the Department of Social Care and Social Work, the successful applicant will be expected to play an important role directly through their education leadership and knowledge of social work to the Department.
About the role:
We were recently inspected by Social Work England and all social work programmes were approved with no conditions. We are an ambitious department for both students and staff. Further information about the Department of Social Care and Social Work can be found here
Applicants will also be expected to contribute towards teaching in the Department, which offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Social Work, Integrated Health and Social Care, and we deliver Degree Apprenticeships programmes. Applicants will have a background in an area of social work or social care and experience of working in Higher Education.

You will also receive an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum, which is in recognition of staff contribution to the University’s achievements and which will be added to your base salary each month until 31st July 2023.
