We are looking for Software Developers to join our team to work on the Maropost Commerce Cloud product.

The Position

As a Software Developer at Maropost, you are going to be helping our Commerce customers grow and manage their online business and help them succeed.

Your main objective will be implementing new features across the back-end with automated unit and integration tests. At Maropost, we use a mixture of PHP, Node.JS, PERL and Ruby with world-class CI/CD tooling. As a Software Developer, you will be proficient with one or more of our languages. You will also have a strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices in both spaces. Depending on the work, you might also get your hands dirty with a bit of front-end stuff too.

You will be working in a collaborative team environment, where your knowledge and experience in the latest development practices will be highly appreciated. The code you write will need to be cleanly organised and of the highest quality. You’ll also help ensure solid application performance and an excellent user experience

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Developing code and have a passion for writing tests
• Contributing as a full scrum team member in all standups, refinements, sprint planning meetings and retrospectives
• Prioritising, coordinating and managing individual workload and tickets from start to finish to ensure it contributes to the team sprint goals
• Contributing to technical and functional requirements gathering
• Collaborating with Developers in your team to deliver the optimal solution
• Actively contributing to the team’s continuous improvement.
• Reviewing code changes and implementations
• Documentation of development & testing procedures and criteria
• Developing, executing and maintaining automated tests such as unit tests & functional tests.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Minimum 4 years of software development experience
• A customer-centric focus, keeping the customer in mind at all times during the SDLC.
• Experience in backend development (preferably PHP but with an interest in Go or Ruby), unit testing and functional testing of software applications
• Proven knowledge around writing scalable performant code.
• Proven knowledge and experience with MySQL, Linux, REST API’s, JSON.
• Familiarity with agile methodology and test-driven development.
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Fast learner, able to pick up complex business rules quickly to gain an understanding of applications.
• Ability to quickly integrate into a team of skilled developers and to adapt to existing processes and tools

Preferred experience:

• Symfony framework
• PHPUnit, Behat, and other testing methodologies and frameworks.
• HTML, CSS, Perl, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and modern JS libraries is preferable.
• Terraform or similar Infra-structure-as-code tools
• Modern CI/CD tools
• AWS environments

Bonus things that you might have:
