Masterworks Hiring for Proofreader at Poulsbo, WA Full Time

Proofread and QC electronic art, copy, and proofs for digital and direct mail marketing projects in highly standardized workflows. In addition to making basic corrections (spelling, compound words, hyphenation, capitalization, punctuation, grammatical structure, word usage, etc.), you’ll provide mission-critical quality control, including: ensuring adherence to client-specific style guides, checking variable messaging, inspecting the visual format and physical appearance, and comparing proofs against original art.

Primary Responsibilities: *

• Review electronic documents for grammar, spelling, and conformity to client-specific style.
• Follow detailed QC processes within various workflows, and make callouts to ensure accuracy (campaign creative, audience versioning, proofs, etc.).
• Ability to adhere to the varying demands of clients regarding their individual preferences in grammar, style, and brand messaging.

Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and style.
• Excellent grasp of English language.
• Strong attention to detail. The proofreader needs to find job satisfaction in ensuring that everything is accurate.
• Ability to self-direct and work independently, and collaborate with other proofers while working together on larger projects.
• Endurance to cope with a fast-paced production environment and maintain high output, even during peak busy seasons.
• A strong sense of responsibility and dedication — the company’s reputation in many cases will depend on this person’s willingness to go “the extra mile” to ensure accuracy.
• Comfortable working digitally in a variety of computer programs, and willing to learn new programs and processes.
