Fellowship More Information: Purpose The APP Psychiatry and Mental
Health Fellowship is an immersive 12-month program in mental health
focusing on underserved populations in a community-based setting. It
attracts APPs seeking a structured educational program to support and
guide their development of proficient clinical decision making and their
application of specialized skills in the care of the mentally ill
patients through in-person didactics and mentored clinical experiences.
Provides specialty health care services within defined scope of practice
in collaboration with a licensed psychiatrist and in accordance with
MCW/FMLH policies and procedures. The Fellowship is an academic clinical
partnership between the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert
Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and University of
Wisconsin – Milwaukee. It is an immersive, longitudinal transition to
practice 12-month residency in mental health focusing on underserved
populations in community based settings. Trainees will gain
interdisciplinary team-based experiences across the life span. It will
consist of core clinical rotations in a variety of ambulatory settings
and an inpatient setting, elective rotations in specialized ambulatory
settings, and didactic experiences Anticipated Workweek: Position
requires flexibility with respect to clinical rotations spanning
inpatient and outpatient settings. Structure and Supervisory

Expectation and Learning Outcomes Advanced Assessment: Elicits, selects,
and integrates information in the care of patients with acute, critical,
and/or complex chronic illnesses using physiologic technologic and
pharmacologic inputs. Differential Diagnosis: Makes and prioritizes real
and potential conditions based on available data and the complexity and
severity of patient condition. Outcomes Identification: Formulates goals
and outcomes using scientific evidence that are consistent with the
patient’s wishes and present and potential capabilities. Plan of Care:
Develops, prescribes, and/or modifies an outcomes-focused plan of care
with an interprofessional team targeting health care that may be
restorative, curative, rehabilitative, maintenance and or end-of-life
