The Global Operations and Supply Chain (GO&SC) organization plays a pivotal role in connecting Medtronic’s Operations innovation and technology to patients and customers everywhere. This exciting role of Director of Operational Technology & Digitalization will focus on leading the newly created Digital Program Office, driving Smart Digital Factory application projects, and collaborating across the digital matrix within GO&SC. You will create and drive the strategy around digitalization projects within operations, successfully executing & organizing the end-to-end digital project lifecycle from intake through execution, maintenance, and expansion, leading and running development sprints for smart digital factory applications at Tier 4, 3, 2, and 1 collaborating closely with partners in Smart Digital Factory architecture, GO&SC Data Analytics & Insights, and Global IT.

The Global Operations Digital Transformation team is responsible for shaping and transforming Medtronic’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations. You will join our Manufacturing Digitalization & Operational Technology organization, which drives Manufacturing Digitalization and Automation globally. A Day in the Life
As the Director of Operational Technology & Digitalization, you will:
Provide business and technical leadership and partner with Operations & Maintenance to effect improvement on production lines/equipment.
Enable standard digital capabilities for asset intelligence & predictive maintenance
Enable continuous improvement in operations through digitizing data collection and visualization
Support deployment of digital tools– working with the execution team to develop the overall program plan, organization, and tracking approach.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience overseeing large-scale MES deployments or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience overseeing large-scale MES deployments
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 10+ years of professional experience in a major, global organization in multiple areas of both business and technical and leadership domains within Manufacturing / Shop Floor Control operations OR Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and 8+ years of professional experience in a major, global organization in multiple areas of both business and technical and leadership domain within Manufacturing / Shop Floor Control operations
7+ years of managerial experience
Experience with OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) programs
Industry 4.0 – Proven expertise and experience in Operational Technology applications (Internet of Things / PLC / SCADA / DCS / MES)
Led a digital OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) program to improve production lines and processes and provide operational savings
Strategic Thinker
Strong Communicator / Influencer
Strong Problem Solver / Analytical Skills
Agile Delivery Methodology
Lean Manufacturing / Total Productive Maintenance Experience
Digital Native
