Summary:
Meta seeks a talented, highly-motivated and flexible transactional lawyer to serve as Lead Commercial Counsel supporting its gaming platform, community, social impact and digital media acquisition initiatives. The candidate will work directly with the business to structure, draft and negotiate strategic partnership, license, service, marketing and beta agreements. The candidate will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and business operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable with and responsive to rapid developments and changes in direction as well as working with technologies, products and in practice areas without much precedent. Diligent and proactive, the candidate will have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment, technical acumen, communication skills and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally. This is a full-time position that will be located in the U.S.

Lead Commercial Counsel – Platform & Digital Media Responsibilities:
Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for a wide variety of commercial agreements including: strategic partnerships, content licensing, platform integrations, software licenses, and marketing and beta testing agreements, with minimal supervision
Lead and negotiate complex transactions by creatively solving issues that arise, coordinating and driving influence across legal and business team subject matter experts, and guiding escalations to appropriate stakeholders in order to take strategic and informed risks to meet client needs
Provide practical and effective business and legal advice to deal leads using independent judgment
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define business objectives and structure agreements for efficient deal closure and development of long-term relationships with key partners
Manage and resolve legal issues that arise in existing domestic and international commercial relationships

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and at least one U.S. state bar
5+ years of legal experience focused on transactional deal work at a law firm or in-house at a media or technology company or equivalent experience
Experience drafting and negotiating complex data, technology and content acquisition, licensing and distribution agreements
Experience working independently and reacting quickly to make decisions that have both legal and business impact, and managing multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment
Experience working effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, thinking creatively and being solution-oriented
